It’s that time of year again where I get back in the habit of writing every day thanks to Threshold Theater in Minneapolis!
Answer to “How are you doing?” a la The Princess Bride:
Now where were we?
Oh, yes. The pit of despair!
Looking for a way to not feel so hopeless? I’m going to be posting mutual aid organizations that also won’t have anything to do with my writing!
Today I’d like to shout out The National Kidney Foundation. Dialysis clinics currently receive a substantial amount of government funding. The National Kidney Foundation is revolutionizing the fight to save lives by eliminating preventable kidney disease, accelerating innovation for the dignity of the patient experience, and dismantling structural inequities in kidney care, dialysis, and transplantation.
I will continue these highlights throughout the month of November so if you have an organization you’d like a shout out, let me know!
Threshold Prompt:
Day 11 - SISU
And now for my completely unrelated writing:
THEA
I’m not going to fight about this.
OLA
I would feel so much better if you did.
THEA
To be honest, my number one priority isn’t making you feel better.
OLA
Thea…
THEA
I’d prefer some privacy while I pack.
OLA
It’s only temporarily, I swear. They said after I prove my music/
THEA
Ola, I love you, but you are being naive. Once you agree to compromise who you are, they’ll never stop asking more and more of you.
OLA
I can tell them no.
THEA
Love, let’s leave it here. I’m not going to wait. I’m not going into the closet, and you aren’t going to be coming out any time soon. No matter what the label promised.
