Day 4 Challenge:
Genre Challenge - Science Fiction
FIONA
If I was able to go back in time…
(YOUNG FIONA and MARCIA enter the scene)
I would… I would…
(YOUNG FIONA and MARCIA play games silently)
I don’t know what I would do. Maybe I would teach myself to value the good times. Maybe…
(TEENAGE FIONA replaces YOUNG FIONA; MARCIA and TEENAGE FIONA look at magazines together.)
Maybe I would appreciate the times that weren’t that special at all. Just being with you. Spending time. Learning from you. Big and small things.
(FIONA replaces TEENAGE FIONA, MARCIA freezes)
I think what I would want to do most of all is ask you, what would you do? If you knew what I know. What would you do? What would you tell me? Tell me. Tell me what to do!
MARCIA
Oh, Fiona, you’ve grown so much.
FIONA
Grandma?
MARCIA
What’s bothering you, honey?
FIONA
Can I really tell you?
MARCIA
Of course you can, honey. You can always tell me.
FIONA
But what about the fabric of time? Won’t it mess with your future? My present? My future going forward?
MARCIA
I don’t know about any of that, but I do know I’m always here for you, and if that messes with the time continuum, well, it wasn’t a very good continuum was it.
